Two things... Don't bend the coax at tight angles like you did on the right side. You should have a gradual bend like you have on the left side. Also, don't let the tip of the antennas flop around from wind. Carbon is metal, and if the antenna is located within 2" of moving metal (or the antenna moving within 2" of solid metal), the antenna will no longer work.

Most people with heli setups use plastic tubes (like for old 72Mhz antennas) cut down and sticking out around the skids.

Don't be afraid to move the RFU to the underside of the heli. You can make the cable to the FBL controller as long as you like.

Definitely better, but I always put one of the antennas under the heli, since it will be above your head the majority of the time.
