HeadPlay HD FPV Headset w/ 32ch 5.8GHz Receiver - Pre-Order open at GetFPV.com

GetFPV is excited to announce that we'll be carrying the new HeadPlay HD FPV Headset.

The HeadPlay HD's are available for pre-order now at GetFPV.com

The new HeadPlay HD FPV Headset is packed full of features that every FPV enthusiast will enjoy. This headset was designed from the ground up with the FPV pilot in mind, with quality, performance and comfort at the forefront. The headset gently rests on the forehead/cheeks spreading the weight out evenly, which compared to many video goggles which rest on the bridge of the nose instead. Three straps securely hold the HeadPlay HD in place while at the same time blocking light coming in from the outside. The end result is a cinematic experience that is sure to impress. This headset is a great choice for FPV pilots that struggle to find a traditional FPV goggle that meets their Interpupillary distance (IPD). Instead of each eye having to look through separate optics, the new HeadPlay HD presents the pilot with one large screen. We've tested the HeadPlay HD with eye glasses and were able to make it work, even though the HeadPlay HD does not officially support wearing eye glasses at the same time.

Beautiful display.
1280x800px HD gloss screen. No blue screen issues.

Integrated 5.8GHz receiver.
32 channel receiver designed by RangeVideo. Super sensitive and works with Boscam/ImmersionRC/Fatshark. All channels. Channel switch by push-button and LED segment display on top of goggles.

HDMI input.
Connect the Headplay HD goggles directly to your DJI Inspire or DJI Lightbridge system. See in HD to make better aerial videos.

External AV input.
Connect your 900MHz/1.3GHz/2.4GHz external FPV audio video receivers to the Headplay HD. Bring new life to your old FPV setup. Try it with the super crisp and bright Headplay HD.

Q&A

Q: Is the Headplay HD compatible with DJI Inspire1 and Lightbridge?*
A: Absolutely, the goggles are designed with these 2 products in mind! They can be directly connected via a HDMI cable. The picture quality is simply amazing!

Q: What material is used for the Headplay HD housing?
A: The goggles are made out automotive grade EPP which has been chosen for its superior strength (widely used in car bumpers) and for its low weight

Q: Can I wear glasses?*
A: Yes, but it depends on the width of your glasses. But the goggles can be modified with a sharp knife to adapt the width to your particular needs.

Q: Will there be spare housings available so that I can make adjustments to fit my huge glasses?
A: Yes, we probably make the housings available at an attractive price.

Q: Is the Headplay HD 3D enabled
A: No, the goggle uses a single high resolution screen. But due to the unprecedented viewing angle, the immersive feeling almost like 3D.

Head play site now says 1000 mah in a forum comment. That true?

What about SkyZone vtx?

What do the different lenses do? I have no idea what personal immersion wishes means.

What about support and warranty? Can parts be replaced, ie if the vrx goes bad.

Can the firmware be updated?

I looked into preordering, but shipping was being added. No free shipping on this? It certainly is over the minimum.

What camera and vtx would be good for this given the huge FOV and high resolution?

If you want the best picture you will need a light bridge setup via gopro or whatever camera I'd imagine. If not any effio camera and vtx should be fine.

Yes the "backorder" status is the same as pre-order in this case. It is simply a new product that doesn't have stock yet. Any order placed now will secure their spot in line for shipment from the first batch.

Free shipping is not available on this product due to the box size it ships in.

For those of you asking about what Tx/Camera to use, yes an HD link like Lightbridge would give you the best overall picture, however a standard definition analogue system looks good as well. The monitor will simply upscale the signal to the native resolution of 1280x800. It won't be an HD picture, but it still looks very nice on such a high quality screen.

Yes there will be spare parts available later on, but we don't have any details on them yet.

These look great, too bad they are EPP instead of ABS or something else that seemed a little less DIY (could of put a plastic coating on it) and not sure why you would skimp out on DVR and head tracking considering how cheap these items are (maybe add $30-50 to the retail cost). Either way I will be ordering a set

the use of epp I'd imagine is weight savings and epp is really durable. Plastic will break before that stuff.
