Just need the hex frame plates, thanks...

Must say though, I took my S250 and hex out for a brief flight yesterday. They do fly nicely(hadn't flown them in a while..). Too bad they're so brittle. I really like the hex in particular. It's still a keeper for my hangar. (Thus the search for plates..)

Still flying my s250aq every day. I upgraded to 20 amp Littlebee esc's and dal three bladed cyclones. She's got some punch now! Plus I added a micro swift 2 and a 200mw vtx. Its my go to rig for fpv!
But you are correct it is brittle. I'm lucky I had a spare frame because I bounced her off the runway and completely destroyed the bottom plate about a week ago.

I have two quads and a hex, and have flown them all a lot. I mostly fly LOS, but was learning FPV. Which led to more crashing, in softish grass mostly. Still, legs and arms break often, and then I noticed tears in my frames.

I will still fly my quads til they die. I have a lot of learning to do yet for FPV. I have a spare frame and lots of feet and arms. (And a whole hex PNP minus one motor* and frame plate..) But really it's the hex I like most. I like it for LOS when the ground is too wet or muddy, or it's too windy, for my planes.... Crazy how they were on sale for like €90 at one point. Long time ago..

I still like the concept too - interchangeable arms for various frame styles, no soldering required, etc. Just needs thicker frames and sturdier arms...

*. So in addition to a frame I guess I also need a motor to complete a new hex. I might even try to double up the frame..

This frame looks cool....

Especially for that price. I wish I had the wherewithal to swap over all of the components from the Spedix hex to it… I wonder if it would be possible to use the Spedix PCB even…, and thus avoid soldering. I love my Spedix hex, but really want and need something more durable.. And 4s capable...

I guess with these that would be no problem?..

Would there be an improvement in performance on 3s, using 2205 2300kv motors?

Talking about the hex here... Really still want a LOS hex, but looking for more oomph...

Still kind of keen on trying the Thorax frame with 20a m8ni Afro ESC’s, but not sure what I’d be getting myself into...

Well I bought three Thorax frames (€5 apiece..), plus six Afro 20A ESC’s. We’ll see how it goes?

Anybody have two SS new motors from a Spedix kit to sell?

Need Advice

Hi, I just assembled my S250Q which I bought about a year ago..

I got problem where the quad is constantly shaking/ rocking either in pitch axis or in roll axis, both in attitude and rate mode.

Other thing that got me confused is, the quad will first rise quickly on around 50% throttle. then it will hover at around 5 metre above ground. Once I apply subtle pitch or roll input, it will start rapidly losing height even though I didn't decrease the throttle at all. If I slowly put more throttle it will start accelerating upwards fast.

So basically it's very difficult to control.

Could this be due to the shaking which cause inefficient thrust/ power application?

I'm newbie to multirotors (this is the 2nd attempt). Previously I only fly fixed wings.

My FC is CC3D.
Prop is 5x4.5 (not bull nose)

Atttached is my setup in LibrePilot
Below is the link to the video. From the sound, we can hear the effect of the shaking, the sound is not linear nor smooth.
Spedix S250Q Shaking and Losing Altitude (0 min 33 sec)

Please kindly advise on what might be the problem.

Thanks

PM'ed.

As for the no stick response on the transmitter wizard, I think it must be a general set-up thing. There must be a wire not going somewhere it should be or something. My receiver is bound, but somehow the signals from the radio to the receiver are not making it to the FC I think… So I must be missing something basic here I assume. I'm pretty sure I had this back at the beginning, but I don't remember how I solved it. Been a couple years by this point…

BTW, this Thorax hex frame seems pretty cool. Very solid beefy arms. The LED situation isn't quite as good, and I don't know what to do about feet, for example if I want to mount the battery on the bottom. Otherwise it seems like a pretty cool frame. On sale for under €5 too… I bought three of them. If it doesn't work out I also bought two Trifecta tricopter frames, also on sale for under €5 apiece. I got them mostly just to have something to build and fiddle with in the winter. Not expecting the most up-to-date performers or anything…
