This couldn't of come at a better time Horizon. Just a quick one for you Mattfly, do we have specs on the servo's being used? Are they the linear servo's or a 3.5gr standard servo?

The servos used in the plane is basically the receiver/servo board from the Hobbyzone Champ.

Thanks for that Matt. Is there any concerns about longevity with the torque that the servo's will be put under during launch or is it a matter that being so light the torque will be so little and not cause concern?

I hand built a prototype using a Champ wing and have been flying it for over two years now and never had a servo issue with it. The great thing about the linear servos is since it uses a jack screw you will not get any blowback of the servo during launch.

Will be watching this thread. Very good to see HH having lots of good inputs, that is very helpful.

Whipit Prototype

Here are a couple of shots of Matt with the prototype, what eventually turned into the Whipit.

Yes, we did try to track down the rights to use the Devo song in the product video (should be up shortly), but it was too complicated to make happen.

Looks amazing!

Have the tail pieces been reinforced at all? I have to imagine they take a lot of stress on the launch.

So about 2 seasons ago Matt flew one this size at the JR indoor a few times. I was hoping they'd make one. Wonder if that was the phototype.. Kinda looks like it.
