Flying low is expensive.

For making the plane go Fffffffpppphhheeewwwwww..! In a power off dive. I don’t have anything to suggest, other than old nerf ball whistles.

How about this?
Not tried it myself though; one of those things I mean to get round to do.

Ah, that’s what I guessed, but I would never do it on a glider. Anyway, nerf ball whistles will do the trick. A favorite amongst EDF jets.

I started a fire in a pasture with a crash once. Lost the lipo, receiver, plane, servos in the fuselage. We were stomping like cloggers and kept the fire to a six foot radius circle. Kicked the motor & wings away early enough to keep them from burning. If it had crashed close to us it wouldn't have had time to spread, but it took a while to get there. Just saying that it can happen. Calif had a fire started by a golf club striking a rock. Tinderbox.

My Heron will whistle in dives, there's lots of little areas for air to flow through for it to

I think the Heron has more of a whoosh noise than a whistle and you have to be going pretty fast to hear it too. I have a Yuri models Virage hotliner/F5B that whistles so loud I'd like to make it quieter. It whistles loudly even with linkage covers installed and going pretty slow

Yup, a Virage will cure the lack of whistle in your RC hangar!

Yes..ok..maybe..lol.....
I have had my Herron for several years and am just really flying it a lot now. What a great glider!!
I am flying it with the following 5 flight conditions:
1) throttle on a spring loaded switch
2) reflex
3) cruise
4) thermal
5) landing-Butterfly.
Each flight condition has its own trims. With each flight condition the Herron flies hands off.
CG is set at 6mm aft of the wing dimples
Mostly fly with the rudder and correct with the ailerons/flaps. Aileron -Flaps are mixed together. Flaps are slaved to the Ailerons.
So much fun climbing to just 75 feet and working the ground thermals.
One of my favorite planes and no tip stalling either.

I had my Maiden flight with my first Heron ever, after going through 4 HK ASW28ís.
She climbed to 180m on the first battery.
I came home with a smile on my face and ordered a second one.
