I started a thread about that new Syma (X8C) here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=2324115

Definitely seems brushless to me (purely based on the size of the quad), but the molding does look like it could be fit around a brushed motor and gears. Looks way too heavy for brushed motors though, so I sure hope it's brushless.

They made a Syma action cam for this quad like you saw in the pic.

I'd want one if they took the wheels off. I wonder if we can get the fuselage separately.

While that has now been confirmed by Gearbest, I'd like to know how you so confidently think that based on the pics? There could very easily be brushless motors hidden within that frame… the motor mounts are definitely wide enough.

One would think it would be perfectly obvious to a seasoned reviewer.

To begin with, the spinners are too shiny.
This is because they are electroplated plastic, not alloy as is common for most BL motors.
Also there is a gap between the spinner and the prop, usually for BL the prop is clamped between the spinner and prop adapter with no gaps.

Above the two large openings is a ring of plastic to conceal the teeth of the main gear.

The second picture shows red insulated motor wire at the bottom vents.
Beyond where the LED wires would be, below where the BL motor wires would be.
Exactly where you would expect a brushed motor to be.

Okay, so that's still all speculation… sure, educated guesses, but nothing that was "perfectly obvious". I still think we could've seen all of that stuff with brushless motors, so I wasn't going to make any definitive comments until we heard something from the factory, etc.
