SMALL 2015--June 4-7, 2015--Wrightsville, AR--With Lots of Pictures

SMALL 2015 will take place June 4-7, 2015 (Thursday-Sunday) at the FARM Club Field, on the east side of Wrightsville, Arkansas.

Most of the pictures have been posted in the last pages of this thread.

Wrightsville is south of Little Rock. This will be the 26th SMALL.

SMALL is for RC, Control Line, and Free Flight models of all types powered by electric motors, fuel engines .25 cu in or smaller (CL fuel engines may be larger), rubber, and even hand launch. Model rockets of solid fuel and air/water types have been flown. Innovative and different from the ordinary models are welcome. The field is very large, flat, and open and can easily accommodate all of these types of flying. There is a session of indoor electric flying and I will post details when I get them.

You can find the threads on past SMALLs going back to 2001 in the "SMALL Events" thread here:

A Google Maps link to the field:

You can use the "Get Directions" button to get driving directions from your location.

GPS Users: This street address for the FARM Club Field gate works with my Garmin Nuvi GPS:

6855 Hwy 386
Little Rock, AR 72206

SMALL is being hosted by the FARM Club or Fraternal Association of Radio Control Modelers Club. You will find their website here:

More info to come. I will put updates in this or the next four posts.

Celebrate 1/2A glow at SMALL 2015

Here's another thread in the 1/2A Forum promoting SMALL 2015.

S.M.A.L.L. = Small Model Airplane Lovers League

How many of you have a 1/2A story? Have you ever started a Cox .049 or any small glow motor? Do you still fly a Cox powered model? Have you ever wanted to gather and fly with pilots who enjoy this facet of Model Aviation?

Have you ever had pilots at your local field say, "Are you seriously going to fly that small plane?"

At won't be asked that question because the answer is always....YES.....and it's a glow powered slimer.....for some of us.

Well then....SMALL 2015 is your must attend event! Yes....electric .25 powered models or smaller are also welcome because that's what SMALL 2015 is all about. This year, I encouraging everyone to bring one or many 1/2A glow powered models to not only celebrate the joy of 1/2A powered models but to share the experience with many others who have a great story and connection with these models.

I'm promoting the "Celebrate 1/2A - Start 'em if ya gotta 'em!" campaign to encourage a large gathering of 1/2A models at this year's event. Even if you don't want to fly'em, bring them anyway. The goal is to hopefully have more 1/2A models present than electric this year, though we love electrics too. The event started in 1988 and was primarily 1/2A and let's celebrate our connection to 1/2A. Hope to see you guys there!

This video is a great example of a young man's first experience running a Cox .049 for the first time. Listen to his comments:

Cox .049 Cessna 182 (First Engine Start) (3 min 19 sec)

All the best,
