A wee Carbone rod.
I Never use those as local supplier makes that THE most expensive part of a build.
Wooden/bamboo skewers/dowels are readily useable.
Or plastic pallet strapping makes for a worthy substitute and is typically free.

IF you're a fly fishing aficionado, you could give the art of bamboo splitting a try too.

looks great Bob!

...... motor running correct direction.......
be shure, the prop is also in the correct direction, front of prop must face to nose of Judi. Some builders told me,got the recommended motor, prop, batterie, but seems to have no power. The result was the prop mounted the wrong directon.....

Looking forward to your build and report of the maiden

Post a video please. I'd like to see it fly. Bigger flies better.

I'm pleased to announce that my 200% Judi Jet Ski has flown.
The Vimeo video presentation will be available soon ...
or eventually here ...
(2 min 40 sec)

Be patient vimeo is slow without a full subscription. ( I.E. Payed )

It's quite a nice slow flying sight to see.

No decorations yet. Just the depron for the Maiden flight.
I used only 6mm depron and a single thin CF blade 6mm wide as the spar.
All the equipment HAD to be mounted WAY forward to achieve balance.

No weight yet, as my Harbor Freight scale has decided to NO WORK today. ( the PS is good )
I'll get a weight asap.
This build required 5 FULL SIZED sheets of 6mm depron.
That's divided up into 10 1/2 sheets so it can be shipped more easily !
@ $10.40 for each sheet the kit will have to be $75 + Shipping.
It's a darn shame to have to charge that much but it's quite a pile of foam and work.

It has a HK 3010b motor, Orang RX, a couple of MG servos for the Elevons and an old Futaba for rudder.
I am using a 60amp ESC as I had it available and a 3 to 4 cell lipo of 2500ma or + size.
It will fly with 3 cells but is a bit more peppy with 4 cells.

It Loops, Rolls, Snaps and will do my favorite Slide On Ground Touch and Go's !

Thanks for the design guys.

Thanks Dave

Vimeo must have finally timed out while I was out mowing.

Judi has a narrow speed range , with all that Fuse Drag,
but, it is fun and pops off very quick like IT WANTS TO FLY !

Hey, Some are built for Comfort and Some are built for Speed.

I just put another 4 paks thru it this after noon between Mowing .

I gotta get some colors on it next :-)

I sanded NO edges round , yet !
it's a blunt as it can get.

My "idiot" smart phone won't play Vimeo stuff. I'll check it later on the house computer. My younger daughter does her college stuff with it, older daughter uses it, the wife Facebooks... whens my turn?

Stay the hell away from faceebook unless you have to because of TEEN pressure.

We've had this discussion with out daughters some years back. No issues at all.
My wife Facebooks with her friends and family. Being Christians, we know when to draw the line. We don't do stupid stuff there.
Thanks for the concern. Enough people have problems with social media. We don't need to be a part of it.

Good to see you dropping in here :-)
I was wondering about your reaction.

Actually I misspoke when I said Paint job ...
My notion of paint on foamys is actually Colored Packing tape.
I'm kind of a minimalist when it comes to foamy decorations.

My reaction on take off says it all.
A very nice and stable flier.
I'm starting to think that all the fuss over flying wings is just silly.
This model is definitely a Keeper !

Anyway , Glad you liked the Vid.
You will like the next one even better.

This evening after many improvements, namely ...
Larger gage Wires to the motor as the previous wires got so hot they melted some of the foam
in the aft compartment. Fortunately it was Silicone insulation not the cheap stuff.
So no shorts or smoked ESC.
I hope sometime this week to get time to take some readings on Power and the like.
And get an AUW for everyone..

Also I added a brass flip up water rudder using an old nose gear steering block.
I also changed the prop size and went to a 3 blade.
Late this PM when there was still some wind about I had a try
and it was amazing with a 4 cell pack.

I keep wanting to cover over the Cockpit "hole" but then I think about ventilation
and , well ... I guess I'll have to just make a Profile Judi.

Tomorrow evening I expect to try it on my neighbors Pond.
Vids will be taken ! :-)

More later.

I like the model of "Judi Jetstream" and build such a model with 3mm Depron, 16g hextronik, 800mAh / 2S LiPo, and 7x4 prop. The total weight is almost 200 grams and that's always the same problem with CG. Take larger size power or 3S Lipo.

From exp. with throwing the judi, motor off, I can find th cg now.

My new monster Judi has a 4S 2700ma pack ALL the way into the nose.

I will be building a 3mm version for indoor use before the indoor season arrives.

I have placed the 200% Judi Jet Ski on my web pages.
Just in case anyone else is as crazy as myself.
