Yes get 2-3 servos, as I said before, if you get that one DOA or you strip it on your first landing then I'll laugh at you

Don´t see a module for the transmitter in your list. You will need a FrSky module to go with the D4RII receiver...

HK has the Littlebee 20A ESC’s on sale today.

Why 30A ESC’s for 3S?

What’s a good 4S setup for the Trifecta? I already have a CC3D, Sunnysky 2204 2300kv props. I would want a fast LOS acro copter for starters... I’m used to 3S, so want more power and speed.

You need at least a FRSKY DJT module to use that radio with that receiver (LINK HERE)

At the end of the day, with the money of that transmitter plus the required module I will advise to buy a FRSKY Taranis Q X7, awesome radio for US$ 99 and it will work fine with any FRSKY receiver.

Regards

I've got two on the way… Also three Thorax hex kits… Plus six Afro mini 20 amp ESC's. I can't decide between a hex, or two tricopters ha ha…

So do many people fly the trifecta on 4S? Can it be fast?

It can be fast, but remember it's plastic so you get more vibrations hence worse flight performance than a carbon fibre quad, it's never going to be as locked in. Also crashes.

Has anyone used Afro 20 amp slim ESC‘s, and on 4S? I simply cannot get my Thorax hex to work with CC3D and Openpilot. I have no idea why… But I guess I will be taking it apart and scavenging parts to get a Trifecta up and running…

Well looks like I bought two Trifecta frames for nothing(the shipping cost more than the two frames ha ha.. €8 for the latter, €12 for the former..) Anyway, I was hoping to be able to use my Spedix PDB with 2mm bullets, but the bay in the Trifecta is way too small. I don't suppose there's some clever alternative to make it work... I can solder the odd frayed ESC cable or whatever, but I can't do that micro-type soldering required for FC's. If anybody has an idea for a simpler way to get one of these together, I'm all ears.. I have a servo, tons of 5045 props, a mini CC3D, plenty of Sunnysky 2204 2300kv motors, lots of 3s and 4s lipos, a bunch of these Afro 20a Slim ESC's which I simply cannot get to work on my Thorax hex.., etc. I'd even be willing to buy new motors and whatever else to get it up and running. I just can't do the kind of soldering required for this mini stuff. So again, if there's a simpler way.... Thanks..

ps FPV is not a priority for starters.

just a side note, this thread is oddly broken when i am using chrome. Everytime i view it, the website thinks i'm not logged in.

Why do you not want to use the PDB that comes with the frame? It fits perfectly and handles all the battery->esc wiring just fine. No fine pitch soldering skills needed.

Thanks. Maybe it's a stupid question, but can you sold or 2 mm bullets to the PDB? Since my ESC's already have 2 mm bullets on them… Plus, if necessary, I can later swap between my hex, quad, tricopter, etc..(all Spedix components..)…

Bullets go between the esc and the motors usually. Not between the esc's and the battery.

But i don't use bullets for anything on the trifecta. Small models, i just solder direct and don't use connectors. There isn't enough room to shove connectors into the pdb bay. They would have to be external somewhere.

This was a major appeal for me of the Spedix models. The PDB also has bullet connectors for the ESC's… No soldering required at all.
