When someone asks you, "What are autogyros all about ?", show them this video. Astounding low speed performance. Minimal rollout. Superb video. Charlie

Very odd Joe........do you think it needs more fin area with the canopy on? My Sycamore flew like that with one fin...its now got three!

Agree with Rich,
The fuselage is blocking the airflow around the fins, you need more vertical fin area. Rich's Sycamore did the same thing except his was uncontrollable.

You did really well to hold on to that at times Joes magic fingers

I agree, both the fin and rudder area needs enlarging
I hope with a more scale body and motor cowl the fin and rudders will work properly

After a little rest got back on my Xenon project.

Lockey I have at last got a fuselage printed many thanks for your help.

The first airframe may be a bit on the heavy side but will do as a test.

Got some LW PLA to try and get lighter prints for the tail, looks promising.

Looking the business Joe,

Does it add much weight?

Waiting in anticipation of a flight video

Rich the test airframe is in the heavy side and hasn't been flown.

The body adds weight to the front so less lead to get the hang angle.

The new tail feathers are a lot lighter than the original PLA prints and im sure I can print a lighter airframe later after some tests.

Hope it flies like the first one in Corfu but with the body on.

I printed the test airframe about a year ago.

Here are a few pics from the build.

The full size fins have an aerofoil shape to compensate for the prop torque, it didn't work on the model and I had to move the motor thrust line to the right looking from the back.

Managed to get out and try a few hops not very successful but will try without the body and get the airframe flying then try again with the body.
