Turnigy TGY-i10 and Flysky FS-i10
I wanted to start a new discussion on these two radios. I have uploaded some comparison pictures for everyone so you can see some of the cosmetic differences. I will do more of a review at a later time. Everyone is welcome to talk about these two great radios. Enjoy.

The trims are in a better location. I also like the two switches on the very top of the Turnigy. It's a little better for Throttle hold and idle up on my Helicopters. The knobs also fell a little better and the overall feel/grip is much nicer on the Turnigy, IMO.

I will post some pics of the receivers I am using. I think they are the same ones in your picture, but just the FlySky branded versions. But according to others, they should work fine.

Switches and Knobs are the same. Sliders on side are different design. Both look good in side by side. Next issue is repair and I noticed the Turnigy does not have the latest Firmware upgrade. I have asked FlySky if they have a separate upgrade code for Turnigy.
Will post answer once I know. Jim Quote:

Thanks for the support. Just trying to get everyone in one place.
Also, for anyone new to this radio, Jim at Diamond Hobby had been very helpful with the Flysky radio questions. Also been great about getting firmware updates. Thanks again. Mac |

Received my TGY-i10 today (really fast shipping). The gimbals actually feel quite nice. Not sure what to do with all those switches yet, tho... ;-)
Since there's not really a review of this thing, I'll try to do some range tests soon. Or is it technically really identical to the Fly Sky? |

I was amazed at the shipping. I ordered mine, there was a day or two processing, then it shipped Sat and showed up on my door Monday at lunch. I selected FedEx Priority. I think that was the fastest I have ever gotten anything from HobbyKing. It is usually about a week most other times.
As far as the knobs I was talking about, the ones on the Turnigy seem have a bit more "tension" on them than my Flysky. The ones on the Flysky turned really fast and a little to easy, the turnigy was a little slower with some resistance. As in a good thing. They both were fine. It could have been something as simple as someone tighten a screw a bit more at the factory. Mac |

Mac,
I have not seen any links over at HK for the latest Firmware upgrade, 1.06. And I'm not sure that the FS update will work because of the different labeling (Flysky instead of Turnigy). I know from experience that customer service regarding updates is really spotty at HK. I'm sticking with my FS-i10 rather than spending money on a re-branded TX with questionable service options, despite the different and perhaps better layout of the trims. Are you going to send it all the way back to Hong Kong for servicing if probs arise? Just my $0.02. |

Hey Mac, I too like the switches and knobs. Can't compare them with any other TX, but I'm happy with it.
Shipping was really fast indeed. I ordered last Friday night (00:30 local time in The Netherlands, Western Europe) and it arrived yesterday morning. 4 days including the weekend! I'll send a message to HK about the firmware. Hope they put 1.06 up on their website. |
