FMS questions

My flash 5 got here today while I wasnt home and I will go get it tonight.

One thing Ive been wondering about in FMS for a while is what are the tail/nick/roll/pitch settings for in the controller options? Do I need to use them or only ailerons/rudder/elevator/throttle?

Also, I was pretty sure I read the latest version of FMS simulated wind but see no wind option and it really doesnt seems to simulate any (if I take off without touching any control but throttle and elevator it goes perfectly straight non stop). Should there be an option to simulate wind?

Thanks

I think the controls you are seeing are for the helis in the sim. For planes stick with the A/R/E/T. As to the wind option I'm afraid I have no idea.

The latest version of FMS (FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.1) has wind. It's under the "Simulation" menu -> Wind. It's pretty realistic too.

If you don't have FMS 2 A8, then it's got a link here for downloading.

As you no doubt have suspected, the model file formats changed from A7 to A8. I'm not sure why, but I'm sure that there must have been a good reason for this change. You need A8 models. Unforunately, most of the models that are out there are A7.
