parkzone mosquito cockpit tub

Hey all I will start my blog with my recent cockpit fit out

I originally took the canopy off just to paint the shallow tub and that's when the ideas started flowing....I wasn't after full scale just some added interest and as u will see..the more I did the deeper the project took me.

tub shell

Getting in deeper I removed the shallow tub to create a full tub....and then set off designing the rest of the detailing...
I found when I removed the tub deck I exposed the foam bracing and support for the wing leading edges....lots of wobble ..damn....

Once the walls were in place this pushed flat against the wing leading inner edge and held everything really sturdy

framework paint and detailing

Now the basic features have been played out I set about creating.the rest of.the detailing
First was the tubular structural support... this also stiffened the tub up by miles

Cockpit tub was then painted using tamiya flat green..

Seats were detailed and painted after I moved the nav seat to a more appropriate position..

Then the rest of the instruments were added after a coat of tamiya flat black

You betcha. I'll look forward to seeing the results. I always enjoy it when someone takes an otherwise ordinary RTF and turns it into something special.
