Flying site , Walnut Creek CA , Open space, Rudgear Park : aka "The Bald Mountain"

this photo gallery shows the flying site I use in Walnut Creek.
I call it "The Bald Mountain".

The hillside faces South, the prevailing winds are from the SW and W, which is very convenient for hand launching the planes into the cliff.

Access is a short hike of about 100 yards along the fire trail (dashed line in the Google maps photo view).

The trail is a bit too rough for a landing strip, but I have landed the SuperStar on it.
Mostly , the landings are "belly landings" on the tall grass.

As you may see, we enjoy the occasional visits from the local wildlife : turkeys, coyotes, deer, hawks, crows, etc...

Clueless, but trying

Great pics and videos Jure! Love flying with you there. The neighborhood is relatively 'plane friendly' and enjoy our exploits from what I've been told. The mosquito's can get a little annoying in the evening, but otherwise it's a great spot.

Thanks Orcoz !

you don't know how much I enjoy your company and advice.

I had a lot of fun our last time, your quad and the nutball flying slow, hi alpha, close by. Great experience ( no video , sadly ).

Let's hope the storm is over and we enjoy again our "mountain" together .

Thanks, Jure Z.

PS: I heard from one person how he enjoyed watching the planes from the swimming pool.
