November 1, 2014 Club Fly-In

The morning started out pretty marginal for flying with 6-8 mph winds directly out of the south. But Pat (or his wife Kay?) somehow figured out things would improve. By mid-morning the winds had settled down a bit and the clouds started to part.

Besides, even a marginal day of flying is better than a good day raking leaves!

The 8 club members that came out to enjoy some aeromodeling were Pat, Art, Mark, Daren, Jerry, Ruben, Lee and Marc.

Cessna 182 with canard

This interesting 1977 Cessna 182 has a canard and oversize tires. He was doing touch and go's.

This is called the Peterson Canard modification for the 182 (in this case 182Q).

Here's a video I found that talks about the "why" add a canard to a Skylane.
