My New 3D Foamie
Powered by Himaxx 4100 in a 350D with a 12x6. 1500HD Kokam
Nothing too special, but my first own design foamie. Hovers well at less than half throttle, pop ups like a champ. Thanks Wal-Mart for paying the parking lot light bill. I went with a carbon leading edge rod, strapping taped on. Another 29" rod mounted at about the CG. Flies well, although the next one needs a little more fuse depth at the tail end as I broke loose the elevator half connector when it plopped down as the counter balance struck the ground. Gotta love foam! |

Here it is with the post flight analysis crew...making sure I got it right. I think they approve, although the antenna might be a bit suspect.

Pretty simple to cut it, that is for sure. No video as of yet, still getting bugs worked out, CG is still a bit far aft.
It really is pretty easy to build your own, a 3-view of a plane would be a great start, I just eyeballed it. James |
