Wing has dried overnight and looks awesome! This kit is way too cool.

I put some JB Weld on all the hardwood hard points for added security. There is nothing worse IMO than screwing a part into a finished plane and you feel a piece pop loose and rattle around inside the covering....

Sorry for the low pic quality, just taking them quick with my phone and posting them before I run out the door. Life keeps one busy thats for sure.

Main wing construction is essentially complete. Still have to do final sanding and make sure all joints are properly glued and all that fun stuff but there are no more parts to glue on.

Nice work Eric--the wing does look a lot bigger than at first! Interesting bracing in the wing, too.

Thanks, it is a pretty neat design isn't it? Built the ailerons and am now moving on to the final major part, the fuselage!

Printed out and pasted some standard gauges behind the wooden instrument panel. Looks good enough for me.

As the fuselage is curing, I decided to wire up the wing will almost all of my LEDs. My reasoning for doing so was simplicity. If everything is in the wing, no wires have to be strung out to the fuselage. Granted I have one blinking red light on the tail but I'm considering whether or not to keep it. Anyway, here is what I came up with, will it be noticeable? Dunno, but it was fun setting it up.

LED Test (1 min 8 sec)

Thanks!

Well, I knew I wanted a red/black color scheme but I wasn't entirely sold on that first one I posted. Found this tonight and was sold! I'm not going to copy it exactly but the basic concept really appeals to me.

Covered the wheels. Ugg... they weren't fun at all. The cone shaped circular shape just proved to be a PITA as the covering wanted to wrinkle up pretty good. Got it done though, they look pretty cool I think.

Couldn't help but put it on its wheel to see what its gonna look like... awesome. I bought the micro tail wheel as an extra, the kit comes with a skid but I like a steerable tail wheel.

Filled in the engine cutout on the cowl as I'm not going to use the old time engine. Then after way too much time filling, sanding, and priming, I painted it with a black spray paint that has a supposedly "hammered" look. I've used this kind of paint before and I think it creates an interesting textured look.

Horizontal stabilizer covered and hinged. All parts are sanded as well so its mostly down to covering and final assembly.
