@ Robert , yet it is !

@ Allen , Im sure the laminated wooden axle members will hold. The thing that needs testing is the joint in the T-bone. The gear has no shock/spring in it so i hope the tyre will absorbe it a bit. If one would build a shock unit in the folding arm would be perfect. Im afraid that sush a shock would need to be scratched though.
For the initial tests i shall go to the beach at low tide , nice surface for landing. The field at the club is not suitable for any wheel landing yet

Cheers.

Agreed. I really enjoy water flying and don't feel I get to do it enough. But land is most of my flying. A true amphibian would be cool... I already have one, I'm building my second and was hoping the Goose would be my third.

I have a 1/5 scale Grumman Duck and currently building a 1/8 scale PBY-5A Catalina. When I say "currently building" that is a little misleading. I'm in the acquisition and planning phase. Currently in the process of cutting the parts to begin construction.

Good day Bart!

I am also planning on more landings on ground than water, please let me know how the stainless steel replacements work?

Great work again Bart! I received my kit from GLM this week and looking forward to getting started soon. Thanks for the stainless steel gear update.

I was contemplating using all brass gear but after seeing your stainless gear build I am going to go down that path also.

I have a friend helping me with the gear jig...I just need to do some shopping for the gear materials!!!

Good luck with your testing and I am looking forward to hearing how well everything goes.
