DIY Heli Gyro

Has anyone out there made their own gyro for a helicopter? I made one with a BasicX-24 (expensive microprocessor) and an ADXRS300EB Gyro (freebie). It will have heading hold and remote gain adjustment. Haven't been able to test it yet since my LMH Corona 120 isn't finished. Maybe I can afford the BL motor and controller after I sell back some textbooks this week

Freebie?

No, but on a related subject, I am looking into building a Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) using 3 ADXRS300 rate gyro's and 3 ADXL203 rate gyro's. How did you get the ADXRS300EB Evaluation Board for free? It is $50.00 on the Analog Devices web site. Even the ADXFS300 BGA's chips them selves are $33.00

Note: It is cheaper to buy these parts from Analog Devices then from Digikey.
