Hey guys,
I was driving up Dog Track road today & I saw someone in the track parking lot holding what looked like a bluecore plane.
I stopped & introduced myself to Glen. He just launched this little IFO and was havin a ball in the brisk breeze.

He had a couple more in the truck.
The bluecore one was named "Yakhoi". Kind of a mix of the two.
He did the sweetest knife edge with her... knifedge loops too... says he just learned to knife... I think he was pullin my leg.

The white one was made from 3mm ZEPRON and weight 8 oz !!! Powered with another CD ROM motor.

Enjoyed meeting him. We need to get together & compare notes on foamy construction, he had some very inovative ideas !

Good job Glen,
Jim

Hi Guys,

Well... the AMA LiPo warning has really stirred things up. I've been reading the Batteries and Chargers forum (thanks for the suggestion, Chuck) and there are many, many posts now about safe charging procedures. One is from a guy who asked for ideas on how to safely charge LiPos as he was considering getting some, but was put off by the AMA warning. Of course, many people responded with different types of containers they had found to "safely" charge them in. He posted back

What have we come to??
We are charging in safes, bbq grills, pyrex, and many other things.
I refuse to buy a battery that has to have all these precautions. I am sure they will be safe in time.
I will not buy a "vault" just to charge my batteries.
This hobby is supposed to be a clean, quite, and safe hobby..........Sorry, I can adept to change, I am waiting for you guys (the pioneers) to make things better.
Thank you for your contributions....
Sunspot

I don't know, I just found this funny so I thought I'd share it with those who haven't seen it. Actually, the research I've been doing on the Batteries and Chargers forum kind of surprised me, as I have been just charging them on my kitchen table (I do watch them and don't leave the house, etc.). Anyway, I just thought his response was funny and shows how wild and crazy this topic has become.

Glad to hear that Dave ! My wife had a little bout with breast cancer about 10 years ago. It was a rough time for a while but she is fine . It seems that they are SO close to a cure.... and yet so far away.

I stopped by Graves yesterday & picked up a new Slow Stick.
Gonna fly her dead stock !

Dave,

That's fantastic news, glad to hear all is well. When you get her settled in back in at home we'll be waiting for you at the field.

went into bobbs for a Ducted fan unit, came out with a whole plane. Got the wattage turbo hawk for $42 (only $20 more than the fan unit it came with). Already mounted my DSCDR motor on it, After re-soldering it to delta configuration it seems to have enough thrust.
