I had to change out the LiPo today, so I took some photos and videos . As you can see, you can use any LiPo if it fits the case, just plug in the HXT 3.5mm and balance lead . I don't see any room for XT60 to HXT 3.5mm Connector Battery Adapter unless your LiPo is shorter.

Tali H500 versus Scout X4 LiPo Case

First impression (not an in-depth technical analysis): The x4 seem louder compared to the H500 (or x350), uses the same original props as H500, both hold altitude really well, but the H500 being bigger, appears more solid; however being a hex, more parts to maintain. Looks, the h500 carbon is sleek in the sky. i will take a closeup photo of both carbon models next week. both carry about the same payload for that 15-25 minutes duration. We did 3 short flights with one LiPo, conservative returning at 22v. Design improvements: the GPS count blue light indicator has been relocated to the rear of the scout x4, whereas it is below on the h500, not visible while waiting to take-off on a bright day, unless you lift up the rear legs. both uses the same LiPo, just interchange the LiPo case. both models capable of carrying the gopro and future new gimbals / new cameras planned for.

I wonder if you can only fly it by ipad or if you could use a devoF7/10/12. I have never been 100% sold on flying from a tablet. But mount my ipad air above my devof7 and I am sold.

my understanding, the LiPo battery may be the same size as the Tali H500, so it will carry a load for that duration. Let me find out the exact size later today.

What is the advantage to wifi quads over rc? Reduced range in exchange for more telemetry features and don't need to buy a controller?

Leo, while you're at it, could you please find out what the flight time would be in X8 configuration with and without Gimbal/GP?

Thank you in advance!

Tablet control has issues:
Lack of tactile feedback on touch, for example you have to look at your screen to see if your sticks are centered, how much are you pushing in any direction.
Lack of range. Wifi will have like 300m range at best when stock. With some questionably legal amp and directional antenna, you may get 1km in the direction you are pointing at. I get 2.5km omni control range stock on my Phantom
Reliability. Wifi has more lag and is more prone to jamming (see various stupid drone jamming things out there) Analog just works and can better burn through interference.
