Build Log

Hellberg Mig 29 mid prop pusher

Since the combat ship has to wait for smaller components (or a larger airframe) I scaled down the Hellberg Mig 29 to a 24" wingspan and fit the parts to (6) of the 14x18 foam trays .....here's the templates

Cut the decals this morning...

"Stu" has been with me a long time (1975). I did a caricature of one of my superintendents way back when. He's graced a lot of drawings as a "scaled" HIM (Human Interface Model). Most of the time my boss(es) would make me change him to a more ergonomic representation, but he did manage to make it all the way through to "released-for-construction" drawing sets several times, usually causing a chuckle or two.

Used AutoCAD and photo paper.

Assembled

Will mount the servos, motor, battery and esc tomorrow...

2.55 oz without hardware
5.60 oz of hardware
8.15 oz AUW........

Hmm....the SuperTigre 370 1000kV motor is rated at 125 watts continuous....
245.4 watts per pound......I think I've got enough "Ummpfff"

Forgot paint, decals, horns, clevises, rods, and Velcro....AUW 9.10 oz

Hardware

HS 55 servos,
640 maH 15C 3S (which will change to a 1300maH 20 C),
20A ESC,
APC 5.25x4.75 prop
370 size 1000kV outrunner (produces 7 oz of thrust by my measurements)
better choice would be something in the 1250-1500kV range because of prop
size limitations, but the 370 was all I had on hand..we'll see
