25 dollar 1 meter dlg kit in china

(Please note that I am working in china so do not know if or how this may be available in US.)
I got this 160rmb dlg balsa kit in china on taobao.com with no instructions.
Think I have figured out where all the parts go from looking at the picture. Just not sure how far the fiberglass boom goes inside the fuselage. i can figure out the cg. Will use copy shop laminate to cover I think. Can hardly go wrong for the price.
Pretty complete kit, even a couple magnets for the hatch.

Have started building the fuselage, going together nicely.

Here is the link:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...36&ns=1#detail

Here is another link from supplier- suppose you could buy a bunch of kits and get price break to cover shipping costs.

I dont know a lot about gliders but mine is a discus launch glider for flatland and
the one you show is a motorized glider and it looks to be made of foam and probably a ready to fly or almost ready to fly. So definitely easier to get into the air than mine but vastly different purpose.
I fly epp wings and love them because they are indestructible and great fun but I wanted to try dlg for change of pace.

Yours looks fast, almost like a hotliner. I had one something like it once but couldnt get it land in my small landing area in the middle of our campus.

The Guppy (yellow motor glider) is a balsa model usually made from a kit or plans created by a fellow Rcgroups user, certainly not ready to fly or artf Interested in how this $25 dlg turns out though!

Just my ignorance showing.
I have the dlg almost together now. It is a very ugly assembly job as it is my first balsa plane and I am not a detail person.
But, I have covered the wing and fuse with laminating film and it is very stiff stuff. I use it on my epp wings which make them pretty crash proof.
Just a few details left, drill some holes for wing screws and peg Find a good length for the boom, mount tail, add electronics and see what happens.
Just weighed everything and itcomes out to 110grams without electronics.

Looks like it.
Mine glides beautifully with javelin throw but sidearm or dlg it rolls left. My vertical stab is too weak, need to rehinge it stronger.
But I dont have time to mess with it right now as I am in robot building mode.
Will come back to it sometime.
