FrSky X8R Power Through RSSI or SBUS ports

On an X8R receiver is there any reason why the RSSI or SBUS port cannot be used to power the receiver instead of using any one of the channels 1-8?

I know that it will indeed supply power to the receiver through these ports, and cannot find any electronic limitation regarding the flow of energy through any of these channels or ports.

Running a separate Castle 5A BEC as the power source.

In case anyone else was interested in this I did find out directly from FrSky that you may power the X8R receivers through the SBUS or RSSI port with a UBEC/BEC.

You do not have to use up a channel.

Just googled to see if I could find the answer to this question and your post popped up... thanks for answering this for me! This will save me from having to share a channel and use a servo reverser! Take care.

Just ensure that you don't power it through the SPORT (at the other end). This has insufficient current carrying capacity if there's anything connected to the receiver - such as servos, FC.
