Must have been one of the easiest test flights that I have ever done.

Chris

A great video ,with a relaxed and informative commentary, these light designs with good blade speed are just the job to get more into this side of the hobby.

Each year the RCM&E magazine forum organises a mass build where everyone builds a model of the same gender (title gives it away). The idea to try and get people to build with a few 'lead' builders helping out by showing them how to's etc.
Voting has been going on over the last month and the Atom has come up as the highest scorer with the funfighter coming in at a close second.
Builders generally start constructing in January though some will start in the next few weeks.
For those that are able to a Fly-In is organised in June at Greenacres model flying club, in the heart of the midlands near Walsall, UK. I have been to this event for the last 3 years and it is one of the highlights of the year for me. A good gathering of modellers from all walks of life.
The idea at this event is to get all the mass build models together and attempt a mass fly off, OK for fixed wing fliers but it would be utter Kaos for us gyronuts.

So, if you fancy having ago at an Atom I have a small amount of canopies spare and have a contact for a cnc laser cut kit (PM me for details. I make nothing from them).

It would be good if we could get as many to Greenacres next summer to show those fixed wing boys just how much fun we have! I will be camping all weekend and it is well worth a long drive.

If you do have a go please add a build log over on www.modelflying.co.uk in the 2015 mass build thread, your autogyro experience will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your support boys, we may well get a few more over to the dark side

Test flew my mate Iains Atom yesterday
The first hand launch and flight were normal and after a few circuit's it only needed a small adjustment to the elevator
The second hand launch ended with a broken rudder
We decided to try it again, minus one rudder it flew great I only needed a bit more stick movement to keep it turning with the missing rudder
Iain made the head on his 3d printer and it worked well, the blades are from the HK C30
After we had a bit of fun with his Tri-copter and a near hit with rugby posts
Sorry about the video quality
