Build Log

OV-10A Bronco from Palmer Plans

Latest build is a 96" ws OV-10A from Palmer Plans. I'll be deviating a lot from the plans as usual but Palmer has very scale outlines so it works good for my methods.
This will be another co-build with Wade( wasn't easy but I talked him into it )and he has done a beautiful job on the booms and H-Stab.
We had the wings cut at a professional online shop, bought the nose cone, tail cone, cowls, and canopy set online too. The Bronco will have Robart gear & wheels. Powered by two Turnigy 5055-320 kv motors, Turnigy Delux 80A escs and Graupner G-Sonic 16x12x3 props. Batts will be 6s-5000s. This should give around 2500 total watts.
The plan is to have it done and ready to maiden at AITH at Las Vegas in Oct.
I have started a build log and it is in the Giant Electric Planes Forum.
Link to it:

I'll update occasionally here but the real action will be in the build log.
Video of maiden flight at Vegas AITH fly-in.

John,

Do you have the NAVAIR cockpit detail sheets Dan included with his planset? I am currently creating
the full size OV-10DNOGS interactive cockpit display for the OV-10 Assn. museum in Fort Worth.

Dan utilized the NAVAIR cockpit detail section in the creation of his fuselage lay out. The NAVAIR is
most valuable to us in that it has right angle perspective to cockpit plane views. The NAA T.O.s I have
contain oblique drawn iso drawings without a dim index.

If you have and willing to share I am in need of large density scan of T.O. illustrations so I can utilize
in this endevor? Looking forward to hearing from you.

CAN-O-Pea(s)

Questionable availability after company's third owner took over.

The canopy was the most problematic issue and that should not be too
out of range... he said with confidence.

Gaines...did you give all your molds to the second owner who's now goine?
Gaines Smith did an absolutely beautiful job on each panel. The size and
being relatively flat over a slope creates issues for most of the canopy
people. Its not one big piece...can't be molded correctly as one large one.

The third owner of Fibertech.... has A/B & D fuse noses, rear door, and cowls.

Canopy parts are only $75 an absolute bargin!!!!

One problem, he's tiring of the hassle these require to pull correctly!

Good Luck!

I read elsewhere there was a death in the family...
