Recovering an IFO.....

I used epoxy the first time I covered my IFO. Is there any good way to get this ripstop off? Once it's off, should I grind the excess epoxy off of the carbon rods?

I'd do a search, but they're turned off right now.

Epoxy can come in different "flavors" but most of it will dissolve with acetone. Be careful, though, because it may eat other things besides the epoxy and this stuff will ignite very easily. Fortunatly CF rod does not mind the acetone and if you are patient the old epoxy should come right off. For a bonding agent this time around I'd recommned "Weldwood" contact cement, I swear by it.

Be careful with the acetone, as it will attack the CA that you used to glue the lashings. Although, it would be more time consuming, you should try to scrape off as much of the epoxy as you can first and clean off the rest with 80 grit sandpaper. Just be careful not to grind down too much of the rods when doing this.
