Dremel Keyless Chuck
I don't know if this has been put up yet?? I have a couple of these keyless chucks in my Moto-Tools and have never used a collet since.

Magnetic Broom
Was cleaning up my work area after my last build. It has this ugly carpet. I vacuumed with my shop vac.
I was prepping to cover with laminate flooring so I could see all the dropped hardware. But I am cheap and this is a rental property. I went to the local big box reno store to buy another door so I can have two building boards and saw this magnetic broom. I’ve known about them for years but never thought of using one indoors. After vacuuming I ran the broom across. Voilà two washers. So know when I drop something (like every other minute) I can use this broom to find it. No laminate needed. No bright lights no more swearing. |

I bought a soldering stand with adjustable heat. It heats up very fast and the heat is very well controlled. To me this was a good investment, I can solder the smallest of wires to a big chunk of piano wire.(well not too big lol). good luck |

Another thought is about solder and flux. Use only silver solder with acid flux for things like landing gear, etc., where you need strength. Never use Acid flux on copper wire, as it will eat it away. Stay-Brite is a good choice. It's not pure silver solder but it suits our needs.
The converse is to use rosin-core solder only for electrical wiring. It's not strong enough to hold up on, say, a landing-gear lash-up. Kester is a good name. Just another $.02 Bob |

Sometimes the most simple tools are the best !
A year ago at the Lebanon swap meet in Pa I ran into a seller for these bits. I was inquiring about cutting carbon sheets ect and he suggested these bits. As we all know when cutting carbon you need a mask and goggles ect, and you want the process to go as smooth and fast as possible. Back on the track I have been bashing old models forever and the hardest part is cutting through old hard woods . This great little carbon bit makes cutting wood like cutting butter . I know I posted this someplace before, hopefully not this thread lol |

Quick attach servo mount and control horn
I'm not sure if this goes here, (please advise where'd be best to post it?)
Pair of quick attach servo mounts and control horns. No through pins required or embedding servos in the wing creating weak points. Just evenly smear hot melt glue on the attachment area and stick them on. Made for planes up to approximately 1.5m wingspan with each control control surface area a maximum of 0.063sqm per servo. The will give you your Cd (drag coefficient. You want the most lift for the most reasonable least amount of drag. You'll find that for foils of somewhere between 9 - 11% of the chord thickness the AOA attack will be between 6 to 7 degrees. This AOA is your thrust angle and your tail plane angle. It all depends how fast you want to fly and how much weight you want to carry at that speed. XLFR5 does that calc for you giving you a flight speed relative to flight weight. This makes it easier to choose your prop. |
