Robo me teardown

Time to recycle it. It was an extremely overpriced, bare minimum toy Wowwee rushed to Toys R Us stores, as a last minute XMas gift someone in a hurry could buy locally.

The wheel motors were too slow. At 18V, they started to smoke.

An LM358 op-amp & some unknown chips. Some recyclable caps.

Took a lot of wires to achieve what little it did. 1 arm had a motion sensing pot, but couldn't move itself.

Head tilting servo with feedback pot.

Wheel gearbox.

Head backlight.

LEDs, photosensors, electret microphone.

The most valuable part.

The wheels could be useful, if there was a way to fill in the axles. They need gear motors. There's still an amazing amount of engineering in these Chinese toys, all done for pennies an hour.

Robo me had the last laugh, ripping out a large chunk of flesh.
