The Safe Tag System ground school

The Safe Tag System is a passive ESC Lock-Out system. Very cheap to build. Easy to use.

Why use it? Have you ever left a battery in the belly of a plane by mistake? Do you have someone in pilot training and want a visual way of verifying they removed the battery? Have you ever had to scramble to see which plane has that ‘lost’ battery? Have you ever handled some else’s plane only to find out you were not told the system is armed? I know this is not for everyone. The larger the size of the batteries & props you use, the more seriously you should consider this system.

The idea comes from our friends at the Holdfast Model Aero Club, in Australia, who adopted The Safe Tag System as a required safety measure for the operation of electric-powered models. It is a simple add-on to both fixed wing and helicopter models, with no modification to the model itself. Thanks to our friends down under for this simple but effective idea.
