TP "gen2" packs available now at

The wait is over...

A variety of Thunder Power "gen2", 8-10C 3p (5700 mAh) and 4p (7600 mAh) packs are available for immediate shipment at Also available are 2s and 3s single 1900mAh packs. Next week, we'll add a full range of 2p (3800 mAh) packs will be ready to go as well. For those who absolutely have to have the extra few seconds that the new 2000-based packs will provide, these will be available starting about mid-May (and will be available here first!).

Production of the new 1200 mAh, 10-12C cells is underway and these will be available the last week of April. Next week, the new 2100 cells (also 10-12C...) will begin production. The new 2000 cells will start production the week of the 26th of April.

Soon the site will have all the videos from the testing we've been doing on these cells, and the demo flights by Jason Schulman, Jason Krause, Alan Szabo and others, from the MWE 2004 even in San Diego in February. All of these flights used these same 1900-based packs.

Telling these new packs from the previous generation will not be a problem, as there is a new colored label on the "gen2" packs. Each pack also now has a unique serial number.

Anyway, enjoy!

2s1p and 3s1p only.

Buzz --

I will continue to test other cells, if they look promising, but I'm only going to sell TPs.

I've always consider these new cells to be 3rd generation. I have a TP 3s4p 7.8ah and a 3s4p 8000 pack. The 8000 pack outperforms the 7.8 pack noticeably and thought they were 2nd generation.

Glad to see they are starting to get to dealers.

I too started with the 7800s but while the difference between the 7800 and the 8000 was "noticable", it is not as dramatic as the difference we've seen between the new cells and the old 2000s. Although the old 2000s were an improvement over the 1950s, it wasn't enough, for instance, that you would consider dropping a "p", and going with a 3p pack instead of a 4p. With these new 1900s, we are doing exactly that! To me, that warrants a "generational" change.
