Perth FPV/Multi's

I'll edit this later but similar to Perth Slope Soaring a thread dedicated to meetups, Help and a general laugh with all things FPV and Multicopters

I'll try and add some meet up places as we progress..

SOME RULES / GUIDELINES

Always fly with a spotter

Even in the quiet areas we fly the occasional dog has walked by or hiker, our view in FPV is tunnel like so we can sometimes not see people as they cross our flight area. lets keep a good reputation and fly safe. Now with the thick grass and small quads it really helps retrieve if you know where your multi went down. Buzzers are a great investment

Always turn your goggles on first to check that no-one else is on your channel!

Just remember if you've been piggy backing on another pilots channel CHANGE BACK TO YOUR OWN BEFORE FLYING..Dont ask..

Do Not fly over houses, cars, groups of people or roads

Call out on specific movements on the field: POWERING UP, TAKING OFF, LANDING, RETRIEVING, PEOPLE or DOGS on the field.

Most of all have fun and don't take it too seriously, especially the yellow cards

Hey Y'all

Heading to the Ruins as soon as the batts are finished in about 10mins or so for a quick fight of the Quad, I'm relearning flying them and as I've primarily been sloping for the last year what the left stick does on my controller (Mode2).

I believe Nebs going to so if ya want info he's the man, If ya want a laugh come watch me fly...

Hmm dunno about info, lots of guesswork and half truths I can do until the cows come home

Great flying with you today Kaff, I can see that flying through trees is something that is highly addictive. I'm glad your goggles could show my feed so you got a sense of what it's like to find branches jumping out in front of you!

Can't wait for a few more nutters to join in the fun.

Hey Ben

Yeah a good couple of hours flying, slowly getting the hang of it again, almost fixed the damage, replaced prop and zip ties will fix the motor plates small crack.

Give me a pm when ya go to order the tri stuff, I'll grab a couple of 2200 3s, flightcontroler and metal gear servo for the tail and the kit. might need a bit of engineering to fit the 2215s to the frame, but I'm sure you'll work something out...

I'm using the ever popular KK2.1.5. Need help tuning it. I might get a Flip 1.5 board with a GPS instead to replace it.

Hey Ben,

The KK2 would be easier than anything else to tune. I've built half a dozen multis with kk2's and haven't had any dramas tuning them...

What issue are you having? Happy to help you get it set up when you're free.

Nebs got the previous version of the KK, he's got his dialed in. We put some orders in last night for the new Tricopter fpv builds we're trying and ended up getting

NEB'S

MINE

with

OSD

Just to try out different options, especially as the have Barometric as well as GPS capability

I'll end up getting a miniquad...Stumpy or Blackout or similar..

The Flips have some good reports but personally don't know much about them...Naze32's seem to be flavor of the month

Whats the board/plane/multi doing that needs tuning?

Kaff

PS dang Nebs is quick on the keys...

PPS just saw this on Sydney FPV post

My son is flying the 2.1.5 but I think it would be similar. Franko increased the stick scaling to the following;

Roll 55
Pitch 50
Yaw 50
Throttle 90

He started triple flips straight away.

Are you having issues with flips, or just getting your quad to fly nice and stable?

It's very twitchy and I just need to program the PI gains. Need to wait for my carbon plates to get here to rebuild it anyway.

If it's too twitchy then drop your stick scaling (not PI). Are you flying it LOS or FPV? I had to drop my stick scaling from 90 to about 30 when I started FPV.
