Estar models Pilatus Turbo Porter Build

Well here goes nothing..
I know Martin will be doing a review column, but this is for the rest of us that can't wait the week till he's done!

Well I was amased at how quick Mr. Lee got this kit over here! Man I will never doubt asian efficency when it comes to a postal system again..

The kit arrived in good condition with everything rolled inside the plans and in very good condition..

Here's what it looked like when I layed it all out..

part 2

That's all for a bit. I still have to do a bit more work on another plane before I can finish on this one..

good to finally see one getting built , if it builds like his other kits you'll really enjoy it, and see that he uses some
unique methods of construction making his models light yet still very strong, i look forward to the progress

Knight,

Did you get balsa stick with that for the stringers or do you have to buy it separate?

Good Luck, and I'll be watching and learning!

Himax brushless for PILATUS

It's enough to use GWS 400 motor for PILATUS porter.
PILATUS could perform STO, 20~30 degree climbing, loops, rolls, spins and inverted flight.
Check video clips of PILATUS with STOCK motor.
Climb/Spin/STOL (4,129KB)
STO/BankTurn/Inverted/Loops/Gliding (4,243KB)
STO/LowPass/Loop/Inverted/RollingCircle/HandLaunch (3,640KB)

3-bladed 9x7 prop with GWS 400 (3:1) and LiPo 11.1V 1500mAh rotates 5100rpm and comsumps 12.5A.
With LiPo 11.1V 2400mAh rotates 5500rpm and comsumps 14.5A.

You may use Himax brushless motor to save life of LiPo batteries.
Here's Himax data. (3-bladed 9x7 prop with GWS 5.33:1 gearbox / 11.1V LiPo)

Himax 2015 3600kv : 8.5A, 5500rpm
Himax 2015 4100kv : 13.5A, 6400rpm
Himax 2025 4100kv : 13.5A, 6800rpm

I recommend following propulsion for PILATUS brussless setup.

Himax 2015 3600kv
GWS 5.33:1 gearbox
GWS 3-bladed 9070 prop
Etec 3S1P 1200mAh new HP Li-Po or Kokam 3S1P 1500mAh Li-Po

Here's where I'm at. What a quick build! I'd move onto the fuselage but it's bedtime.
