Bit debatable whether this is actually a nurflugel as it has an allmoving horizontal stab/elevator between the tails, but if you view it as a trim tab it is sort of nurflugelesque. Anyways, thought you guys might appreciate the engineering.

It is more a nurflügel than anything else. The real question is whether it is a model or not. It take 3 guys just to move it!
Thanks for posting. Killer model. Killer video.

So what's the deal with the taper ratio...............Looks cool. I bet that there is a lot of twist in that wing.

Nearest thing to a pterodactyl I've seen in the air!The parent company were a Russian plane manufacturer,so presumably it's a copy of a full size design.

Yes, the model is 1:2 scale and the fullsize was manufactured in 1936 (6 were built) and were used to train Russian bomber pilots.

Really !
It looks nothing like a bomber. There must have been a lot of vodka involved in that decision. However it came about, it is one the most beautiful flying machines ever built.

Because it's a bomber unlike any you've ever seen!

@KiwiKid: Thanks for introducing me to Viktor Nikolayevich Belyayev! I've been a long time fan of Kalinin. Now I have another amazing Russian aircraft designer to research. I tried googling Beljajew but found no relevant results until google translate translated it to Belyayev. Apparently Beljajew is a German spelling of his name.

Like Kalinin, Belyayev appears to be extremely unconventional. And like Kalinin, he appears to be successful.

Thank you for this wonderful gift
