Axial to release new truck, the SCX10 Deadbolt!

We got the scoop that Axial is about to release a new version of the Deadbolt and this time instead of the AX10 chassis it is mated to the very popular and capable SCX10 scale chassis, enter the SCX10 DEADBOLT. Following is some basic info on the truck and as we find out more we will report it to you.

The Deadbolt body is now green and it appears that the windshield was scrapped while an Axial five-bucket light bar was added to the roll cage. Since the SCX10 chassis is built around realistic C-channel aluminum frame rails, it offers a perfect spot to attach a front bumper. It is actually an officially licensed Poison Spyder Rock Brawler bumper complete with functional D-rings. A bumper was something that the ACX10 Deadbolt was lacking and the new version looks awesome with it. The SCX10 chassis appears to be similar to other Axial RTR trucks that are based on the same chassis. It comes with an Axial AX-3 3-channel 2.4GHz radio system, a high-torque steering servo and a 27-turn brushed motor that is controlled by the Axial AE-5 waterproof speed control.

Please stop regurgitating the same parts into "new" trucks and give us something ACTUALLY new.

How about something like a 1/8th scale scx8 with wraith axles or a scale mini???

Wow this looks tons better than the AX10 deadbolt. I am assuming that the AX10 chassis is more capable?

The AX10 is more capable than the SCX10. The AX10 is spec'd with larger wheels/tires, more suspension travel and is 2.3-inches wider. All this translates into definitely helping it when out on the trails and faced with serious obstacles.

The SCX10 does perform quite well on the trails but is more of a scale-looking truck and outmatched in terms of performance compared to the AX10. I really love the looks of the SCX10 trucks with their realistic ladder frame chassis and more proportional tires that don't sit far outside of the body.

True. I wish they would make the SCX10 waterproof from the factory and make shock that don't leak. A servo with metal parts would be nice too.
