Extreme Flight 60" Yak EXP

As the title says there is a new 60" EXP to add to Extreme Flight's 6S class planes. The new Yak 54 with a 60" wingspan flew tremendous at SEFF this past week and I was particularly impressed with the axial rolling ability it showed so effortlessly. I think most of you know Daniel Holman, and though a great pilot, even on his first flight I commented how axial his rolling harriers were and he says it was mostly the plane being so capable. So lets start the thread and get ready it is coming.

I flew my 48" Yak EXP a bunch today, and that really has me wanting a 60.

Yep, now I know it's in the works, I can't wait!

I love the little 48" such an awesome little chuck around plane, perfectly axial rolls, and knife edge is silly easy. I was going to get the 91" but I think from a practicality point of view it wasn't going to work. But a 60" i'll be all over!

The smaller racing tip helps the 48" MXS, Extra and Laser harrier smoother, and the tips that come with the 64" MXS smooth out it's harrier too. The only problem with them is they seem to take away snapping and tumbling agility, as well as slowing the roll rate a bit. I wonder if the tips on the Yak are designed to be large enough to help harrier but small enough that they don't restrict tumbling and such.

This is purely a guess on my part.

Something else on the 60" Yak is that there are only two cooling intake holes in the front of the cowling. I'm going to have B and E graphics make up a radial engine decal to paste over that nose and bluing it out. Should look pretty cool.

Good question. I've got all the equipment set aside for this plane and it's just a matter of waiting. As much fun as I am having with the 48", I'm really excited about the bigger version.

Here's a question for Jeff............ will the HS5245MGs be enough servo for this plane? I've got four nearly new HS5245MGs just sitting here and would like to use them.

Not Jeff, but I feel qualified to answer

The Yak is the same general size and weight of the other 60 inch airframes. If you are happy with the 5245MG on the other 60 inch airframes they will work fine for you on the Yak.
