Could someone please explain the pro's / cons of various types of prop adaptors ?

Hi listers,

Newbie to electrics ! I am going to need to buy a prop adaptor. Nippy 508 outrunner, 10x7 prop but have no experience of prop adaptors.

Would greatly appreciate some information - not much available on the net.

Go with a collet type prop adaptor...all you have to do is get one with the same diameter as the motor shaft (2mm, 2.3mm, 3mm, 5mm)...the screw lock ones are hollow and tend to break easily with prop strikes.

A set screw is a poor way to attach anything to a shaft to carry load(torque and thrust) and to maintain concentricity.

Ditto on the collet type.

Set screws tend to bite (literally), mar, slip, strip and other nasty things.
