Cool

I set a new flight time record for myself!

Went to the club field today to get some stick time in. It was windy off and on but I was able to fly my Mini Speed Wing for 37 mins on my Etec 2s 700 mah lpolys. Previously I was only up till 20 mins, but I worked on duration and specked it out then glided into the wind many times at power off. My neck is sore

I want to go for one hour with a 1200 etec soon....

Checking the wind

Hi Mike:

I got an hour out of my MSW last summer on a pair of 1020 Kokams. Like you I took it real high and rode on some thermals. I don't think I'll ever do it again though? Was a total neck KILLER!

Have fun!

I have the TP 730s and I get 49 minutes if I can find a thermal or two. On a windy day I get about 40 minutes or so. The 1020 kokams give me 57 minutes in wind. I have been up for over an hour with thermal activity. Always need a neck rub afterwards though...

I have an etec 1200 3s pack that I am using on my Sx2 with Af010 motor and it seems to lacking punch lately. I may pull it apart and individualy check the cell balance then build a 2s for the MSW.. I did get one of the new Apogee 2s 830mah cells that can discharge at 9 amps. I think I could leave the MSW at full throttle and never see a power drop off until its time to come down. I'll be testing them this week. My goal is to fly for an hour. I am going to bring a chair and wear 40 SPF sunblock ;-)

You guys and your LI-poly packs. I've spent months talking myself out of going Li-poly and you have to go and post 30+ minute flight times.
Do you have any idea how much this is gong to cost me?

I'm hoping with TP 2100's in a 3s2p configuration (4200 Mah) I can keep my sailplane up for 6+ hours. I'll need a lawn chair for that one, as well as a custom built transmitter battery. I'm planning on trying it this summer when it's nice and warm.
