for 18 bucks its damn well worth it. Its worth it just in the striped parts alone. 4 direction trans, 2 engines and props, and a 3 cell bat pack with integrated charger in controler. Its worth it just for the 6 AA bats in the controler and the NiMH pack.

Dod model handles more wind though, but is off-topic here with the glow motor :-)

To sneak up on Osama they really should go electric for a more stealthy MAV.

How's about pre-moulded CF strips assembled to the LE in a jig, with light ripstop nylon covering bonded over it?

It's just like an indoor duration model, but made from slightly more expensive / hitech materials. Nothing an indoor flier couldn't replicate. Heck, I know the theory and I'm just a gash, balsa loving sports RC flier

The real tricks are (A) Getting the grant, and (B) Having the right education to write the proposals and reports in sufficiently imposing official gobblespeak, as opposed to plain decent English

Regards

Just to clarify that plane, the mav shown is about 6 years old, they are much smaller and haven't been gas powered for a few years now.

here is the plan for the zipper

wingspan is 18", ignore the ailerons

i think the sky surfer has better design with the props inside the wing

a bit car/boat mod would be great for this plane

if you are into bit car conversion
