the dxf plans posted are of the fuse only no wing or tail feathers. Am I missing them or are they not part of that file?

Flew PacAir k2 for 7 years and now fly an ATOS now for 2 years. Ohio thermals are light usually with occassional kicker days. ATOS really does well for this kind of flying.

Thanks to you moogee for bringing to my attention coreflute, the days of spending a hundred bucks plus on some cheap crappy foamy to have it destroyed in a second are gone. All hail Moogee the godfather of coreflute modelling :O)

UK Name for expanded plastic sheet


Hi, I just thought I'd drop you a line to say that as far as I recall from my days in the signwriting business, the expanded plastic sheet you refer to is called "Fomex" (I think that's the right spelling!) in the UK and probably most of Europe. I hope this is usefull.

Dear pman28 / all,

Twinwall / correx / fomex comes in may shapes & sizes.
We, at Mugi, have had ours specially made to our specification rather than just using sign-board. After years of trying out different thickness and densities we've settled at what we feel is the best compromise between weight & strength for the planes we build. The density of twinwall is the key. You can have 2 identical looking pieces of twinwall with the same thickness but one can weigh twice as much as the other. This then of course affects the surface properties when actually building something with it. This means some twinwall can be almost impossible to work with (depending on the application) since it won't 'bend' or hasn't got enough surface 'strength'.

The last bits required have arrived so work has commenced. Here's a shot of my engine mount before cutting. I copied it off the ply pico stick mount available on the web, mine is being made of carbon fibre as you can see.

Cutting the mount out was extremely tedious work that can only be described as painful. I found a scalpel blade with a broke tip works well. You score the cut line a few times with the sharp side of the blade, then turn the scalpel over and score the sheet repeatedly. Prolly better to just buy one.
