Um... Wow, that so amazing! I want!
Mi remember seeing a 3d IMAX years ago. In the video, they had a camera from a plane show a city scale far below. It looked just like you were in a plane looking at a full size city. They then moved the cameras far apart all the while still filming. This created the effect that you were looking at a miniature city very close (increased parallax). It was such a neat effect and one I've never seen duplicated. It would be interesting to mount these cameras on your wingtipsl, both aligned for 3d. I wonder what the effect would be. |

hello all.
I have been flying with this cameras last model, the transformer 3D FPV for some time now, and have just received two blackbird cameras from Egor, and just let me start out by saying, the old camera, was an awesome camera!!! the new blackbird, It is even better. I have had the blackbird for just under a week now, and have been installing a new naza-m v2, and Taranis radio, on my TBS discovery pro, along with the blackbird 3D camera. Just using it to look around my shop has been amazing! this camera has a better 3d convergence setting from the factory, and now my HUD is very clearly visible, where on the old one it always seemed to be too close, and was hard to focus on. the new blackbird got it spot on. with other cameras like this that I have used, it can be hard to get it set so your HUD just floats in space, the blackbird is perfect. also its not as distracting this way, the info is there only when you look for it, your brain just ignores it until needed. this camera also has a sharper image than the last one, not that the last camera had problems, this one is just so much better. as I said I have this mounted to my TBS Discovery Pro, it will mount to the standard TBS disco camera mount no problem. the other cameras I have used have had a 65mm distance between the lenses, this made mounting problematic. because the lenses are so close together on the transformer and the blackbird, I expected the original cameras to have poor depth of field, this was NOT the case. i found the depth of field, with both the old transformer, and the new Blackbird, to be Excellent. even at high altitude I was able to see a very good 3D effect of hills, valleys, and buildings, and I find it much easier to fly close to anything, like trees, buildings, or fallowing rolling terrain at low altitude. The camera also has excellent light handling qualities, when moving from bright sunlight to shade, or dark shadows it keeps up as nicely as any camera out there. But honestly the real place the blackbird shines is the 3D effect. It is simply amazing to behold while flying. If you use good goggles that have the ability to support field sequential 3D video like the headplay goggles from Range Video, you will be slack jawed by what you see. I have used several 3D capable goggles, and have found the headplays to be the best for this, they are the only ones with independent focus and IPD settings, which are essential to a good 3D experience. i have been flying 3D FPV for many years now, and for the price you just cannot beat this camera. Egor also has 2 other styles of 3D camera if you need a board camera with the 65mm IPD, and the ability to adjust convergence in flight along with the ability to lock exposure settings, I have used such cameras in the past, and have found the exposure lock to be very useful, this being the only feature i would like to have seen on the blackbird that it doesn't have. This camera however can be split in two, and linked with a cable, this allows extreme depth of field, by mounting one lens on each wing tip. the only place that these cameras have any issues is with vibration, like all CMOS cameras the jello effect can be frustrating, I have made a vibration isolation mount for TBS Pro that I would be happy to share with any who are interested, it has eliminated the admittedly minor vibrations i did have. I am also mounting one on a 2m DG-1000 with head tracker. I doubt vibrations will be an issue on this but I will let you know. if you are interested in more info you can look at the facebook page for the blackbird at https://www.facebook.com/groups/fpv3dcam/ if you have any questions Egor is there with great customer service, and you can drop me a line here or on facebook, I am happy to answer any questions I can. please try this camera if you are using headply or other field sequential capable goggles, all you need is the camera, It will send its signal through your regular VTx, and VRx, all you need is the camera and your good to go, it's a very easy upgrade if you already use a headplay system. For 135$ USD, it is a great deal, and the best 3D FPV experience you will get. I have had very bad FPV weather here in Seattle now, so I will post some 3D videos as soon as I get the chance, Yes you can record 3D video from this very easily, instructions are on the facebook page. thanks for taking the time to read this And Happy Sky's Daniel |

I have not heard anything on the new 3D dominators that are due out soon, i do know they are HD, but if they don't support field sequential 3D video they won't be much use to us in the FPV market, as the only 3D cameras on the market use field sequential, and i don't think Sassan is that dumb, so I would expect them to work fine.
