Crash,fly,crash again....
Took me about a week to build this FT Storch, I maidened it today even though it was quite windy but I was way too impatient. It flew OK, I've built it before and frankly, the first one was wayyy better, even in these high winds.

....i crashed it...not very proud of that, it looks nasty but not something a little (aka a lot) of hot glue and packing tape can't fix
Will try to maiden it again soon in (hopefully) better weather.

Btw: ignore the metal thingies at the front, i had an aft.cg and needed the nose weight

Ouch!!! Dont give up! Planes always fly better once you crash them a few times!

Ah yes, the good ol Storch. Good flying plane. About to get mine back together after a new color scheme change and landing gear change. It was my first FT build and underneath all the paint/tape...the foamboard looks terrible. Wrinkles, creasing, etc. But she still flies. I had pondered retiring her or rebuilding but I'm just gonna fly the crap out of it until she expires.

my teams FT Red Bull Racer submission. we wanted to build a classic pylon racer that would be an entry into speed for people only used to flying foam. allowing a beginner all the way up to an advanced pilot to have a blast.

can run from a 2S- up to - 6S. i tested on a 3S-1800 w/ 7x6e ACP prop, and pulled 29A and 311W. the plane wanted to climb out of my hands. can't imagine this beast on 6S.

scratch built from $1 store foam. custom skins are being done as we speak.

will maiden tomorrow morning. cross fingers.

laters,

me

It looks like it's going fast just sitting there. Nice lines.

watch your head
Well, nice looking birdy. 3 or 4S should be fine and fun to fly.
But I´m worried about 6S power, this will blow the birdy by using just a touch on the elevator i think.

So, if you like to borderline the maximium a DTF-plane will go, there you are :P Good luck!!

no beuno today.

it was too tail heavy, went almost instantly verticle, rolled left, the nose in. the bad CG plus a bad launch, spelled disaster.

oh well, growing pains. it is repaired and ready for another take tomorrow.

cross fingers.

Not to bad of a save just a battery esc and 1 servo to replace
Last year I had a fly away that got eaten by the hay mower 6 months later and nothing got saved.
