Best place (cheapest) to buy gws pico (sub micro) flight pack for moth

I am getting ready to buy the flight
pack for my new moth. I was wondering
if there were any alternatives to Horizon
hobby. Somthing about that place just scares
me. Maybe it's there web site where no information
is current and half of it is missing.

I would piece it together at another place but you
cannot beat there price for it.

I have found some componants at RadicalRC but not
the complete pack.

I want to use the 4P receiver just do to it's weight advantage
over every other receiver out there.

I could use the 50 series servos from hitec but at 28 bucks a pop
whoa!

TIA Dave

Gerald treated me very well, and has real good prices. Not sure if he has the Pico servos in stock, but give him a try.

I think he is evenings only for email, but ships ASAP.

Here is his web site

Thanks for the link but their price is higher (by six bucks)
and they only use paypal or money orders. Got hosed by them (paypal) once not going back there.

Any other Ideas.

I will personally name my new moth's left wheel after the
person who finds a better deal or a combo that would
work better.

Sorry, I'd only do it for the right wheel!

While searching for the holy grail of low priced flight packs, keep in mind that some vendors sneak in a high postage or back order you for several weeks.
This particulary true about GWS supplies since the Typhoon.

I'd heed the advice of frankenfoamy - be certain whoever you order from can DELIVER it.

I've bought from Balsa Products several times amd will do it again.
Pico Pack includes Pico servos (not Naro), 2A speed control and NiNH battery: $95.00
Call if you want other options.

Also check the link DNA gave. They consistently have the lowest prices and if they can deliver I'd give them a shot. They'll probably be the lowest price around.

Ah, there's nothing to be afraid of. MAP ensures that you pay the same for everything at your LHS that you do online or mail order... I love that I can walk into my LHS and walk out with a pico flight pack the same day, rather than paying the $15 for Fedex overnight, then waiting 3-4 days while wherever I ordered it from decides to process my order.

Did you call Dave at RadicalRC? Not everything is listed on his website. I don't know if he carries the offical "pack", but I know he has the servos, receiver, crystal, and ESC. He also has many battery options so you can get exactly what you want there.

I called Dave at RadicalRC & bought the GWS R4-P Receiver for $28 including Crystal & also a GWS ICS-50 Speed Controller for $15 + $2 for Shipping. I then ordered (2) Hitec HS-55 Micro Servos from Servocity.com at $19.95 Each with FREE Shipping. That came out to $84.90 but that includes EVERYTHING including Shipping. That may be the best Deal around.

If anybody has a better deal (including shipping) I've never seen it.

GWS Packs

I recomend Dave at RadicalRC.

I have ordered from him a couple of times and both times have been good experiences. The only problem is that he is really hard to get through on the phone. It is always busy. I guess that is a sign of good business.

One thing you might want to consider... The batteries that come with the standard GWS flight pack are pretty crappy. They weigh a lot and don't have very good duration. Dave sells some excellent NiMH batteries that work really well in the Tiger Moth. He has a lightweight 8cell 2/3 AAA that is 300maH that is far superior to the battery that comes in the flight pack. I usually use the 8 cell 720mah AAA packs. They are a bit heavy but I like the increased flight duration. Also, if you fly on the 8 cells make sure to get the GWS heatsink so you don't blow out your motor. Dave also sells this for a buck or two.

Good luck with the Moth, you will love it.

Dave is a great Guy to deal with, sometimes he gets real busy so just send him an Email. Sometimes I just send him a Paypal Payment & he ships the stuff out pretty quick. He has some great Prices & that $2 shipping charge, you can't beat! I do wish he would update his Website to include ALL the things that he sells.
Dave also sells the GWS R4-P Receiver although his site doesn't have a choice for that. All in all though, I try & buy from him if I can.
