Another great day with SJ4000.
I had it installed on H3-3D gimbal and after coming back home I discovered that accidentally I pressed zoom option (or rather tight -gopro3 designed- gimbal pressed that).
So my whole video looks like someone just digitally zoom it 4x.
I hate moments like this one.
Any one here had similar issue?
Is there any hope to fix this video? (probably not )

Few issues I would love to get help with

Hey all ,
Just read about 100 pages of this thread and finally gave up and decided to ask.

So , I've bought my SJ4000 in ebay here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/261673962247...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

it looks legit based on the tutorial I've found like the one in the actual sale.
The camera came with : N20140902v01 and (apparently) old UI (photo attached).

so :
1) I've tried to update to 20140929 Firmware , liked the UI but unfortunately my OK button stopped working (like few of the members here had) - What's the best and newest FW for those type of camera with bad wiring?

2) My battery case is virtually impossible to open , I have to use 2 plastic tools in order to open it which is ridiculous , If I can barley do it at home on my table in my comfort zone , how would I be able to do it when out in the field? (known issue?)

3) when I shake the camera there's a noise like something is loose inside the camera (known issue?)

so? is it fake? is it genuine but low quality? should I return it?

I would very much appreciate any help with my issues.

Thanks guys.

The screen doesn't look anything like the 4 SJCAM 4000 wifi I have seen.

But maybe older versions looked like that.

1 Best to use firmware version that came with camera.
2 When you put battery in case leave tape on battery outside battery door. Not very elegant but it works. Otherwise put a loop of cotton around door before shutting door then you can pull this when opening.
3 Mine has a tiny rattle too

I have this philosophy when it comes to these things: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. the f/w on mine is from September and it'll stay that way even though there is a newer one available. even sjcam's firmware pages don't give any detail on what the firmware updates contain and why you should or shouldn't upgrade to them. unless you're trying to solve a "problem" then there's no reason to take the risk.

fwiw I would hazard that those having trouble with firmware updates are doing so because they have an inferior copy and not a genuine sjcam sj4000.

Short Question:
Is it still that way that the TV-Out has to be enabled on every Camera Power-On or is there a new Firmware that fixes this issue?

Thanks

and with this version SJ4000_FW(Version N20140809V01) the camera starts the lcd lights up and the image is moving but after 1 2 seconds the camera shuts off
so the camera can be recovered but only with correct firmware
i requested the firmware from the seller on aliexpress but no luck

I just recently got a SJ4000 WiFi for Xmas. The camera seemed to work okay, but I figured I would upgrade the firmware. Ever since I tried the new firmware off SJCAM's site I have not been able to get the unit to power back on.

The stock Firmware I believe was marked 12-04-2014 I think.

Is there anyway to restore the camera to factory defaults?

Glad you found the problem though.
Happy holiday flying.
Lol, I did pay good money to see that crash!! Even though I managed to borrow a screen from a really helpful guy here (thank you Saariq) it seems to have put an end to my ap holiday. Never mind I'll have another play tomorrow and if I can't get it to work I still have an epic new years Eve party to make me feel better!!
