From the details:
  • Companion software lets you import 3D geometry definitions from almost any program so that you can fly creations of your own, then share online
  • Improved model editing system lets you completely control each models flight characteristics in detail

That's the part I'm most excited about.

also says it has new views including in cockpit and chase cams. Welcome additions! I hope they keep their policy of free updates for old version owners...

If you have v4, I assume you have to buy some kind of upgrade to v5?

Good question. They claim to provide free upgrades, and that was that case with V 3-4 so I'd think so.

Upgrades have been free in the past. I don't see anything that would indicate a change in that policy. I like the new companion software that allows you to build your own model. That is huge!!

I was honestly expecting it to be a paid upgrade, even if only for a small amount like $10. From a business model perspective it just doesn't make sense to give away free upgrades forever.

Agree with you. If we paid $10-20 for the upgrade, they'd work much faster. Free upgrades are a good selling point though. This one looks promising. Everyone's been waiting for a chance to create their own models. And creating flying sites is a small nightmare. Can't wait for this one. It must be available within a couple of weeks.
