There are several ways to skin this cat. You should be trying them out on the airplane and seeing which fits you best.

Yeah, a PC

All joking aside though the PC USB interface is the most reliable.
I’ve had good fortune with iOS also but Android is very hit and miss...

I think I saw a mention somewhere that better apps are in progress for the Spektrum lineup. I would really love a more full featured PC configurator. Anybody heard anything similar?

The bluetooth connection seems to work pretty well - even on a pixel xl...... The PC connection is the next best, lastly the audio seems to be hit or miss. It's like the audio cable is equivalent to the old cassette tape data storage link, PC usb is like a serial cable link, and bluetooth is like WiFi. WiFi removes most of the device and/or OS compatibility issues and works at the field without a PC.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

PF

It was published that audio cable is no longer working with newest Android App. BT or PC I'd best.

HH only keeps the last heading when you release sticks. Not self level.

three different things
as3 x primary use is to smooth out the actions you select
heading hold is --to hold the direction pointed
The SAFE function returns present position /attitude to level upright My advice :
once you grasp th basics of flying
keep the model in close enough to see all changes in attitude ,then practice making gentle turns and climbs and dives till you become comfortable
thousands of guys learned to do it
you can too.

There are two different firmware versions available currently. V1.43 is AS3X only and heading hold gains try to hold last heading as others said. V2.27 is the SAFE version and there the heading hold gains do apply to the SAFE auto leveling

Is this Safe version applicable to the AR7350 and AR9350? If so where do I find the firmware updates?

Sorry, I wasn't very specific and made some assumptions in my answer. The versions I referred to are for the AR636 only as far as I know.

There is not.

But if there were, they would be in the same place - your My Spektrum account. If you register your receiver, then the latest code is always there (if there has been a change since release, that is).

Will the new SAFE code load into an AR6335?

It would be nice to have it on my Clipped Wing Cub
