IMU drift 4

After a 2 day process, an outboard IMU was fabricated.

A magic switch was installed to switch the UART between debug & IMU input. The bootloader started in 115200, then the mane firmware switched to 230400 for the IMU. That supported 1050 full readouts per second.

Mounted it on a foam pad under the board. It completely failed to hover.

Hard mounted it with less of a failure, but still unflyable results.

That leaves an amount of vibration coming from the airframe which no IMU can handle. It could be any number of the unchanged motors or propellers. A new airframe has to be built from scratch, but any future crash could throw it off again.

You just need to have enough replacement motors & propellers in the pipeline from China to change everything out when the IMU starts drifting. You can't exactly buy anything locally.
