Walkera QR X800 Questions and Answers

BenHayat, your question and answer from yesterday.

Q. Do you have the MAP pricing for X800 for the 5 versions?

Walkera A: Now we only have 3 versions MAP price for X800
Versions - Settings - MAP(USD)
===============================================
Kit: w/o battery/charger/transmitter/G-2D Gimbal $1689
Basic Version: w DEVO 10(white)/G-2D Gimbal/battery/charger $2296
FPV all in one Version: w DEVO F7/iLook Camera/G-2D Gimbal/Battery/Charger $2599

Q. Since it is a very expensive quadcopter, one person asked about warrantee?
Basically a warrantee will insure no factory defects upto a certain time
Walkera A: 6 months warrantee for the quadcopter.

Thank you very much for your efforts getting the data.

Hopefully soon we'll get more specs and good video that shows how it runs and a proof of flight time.

@TVdrone;

Are you (your company) planning to be a dealer for this and 350 Pro?
If not, who the most reputable dealer in US?
Walkera is saying it's dealer's responsibility to deal with Warranty, but Walkers, just like DJI needs to announce official dealers in US. There are many online resellers, but don't make them dealer.

Hi BenHayat

We are just SAR volunteers. We did look into the USA dealers quite a few times 2 years ago and found walkerausa.com but that can be just a business name. We purchased our first Devo 10 from Hobbypartz.com

Walkera has been around and very popular in the Heli space. So, in terms who are the most reputable dealers in the US, it is best to ask the RC Helicopter forums. Walkera founded in 1994 has over 1500 employees according to trade reports.

However your question is a good one, let's see if Walkera can provide a list, so to be fair to all dealers.

Although they have many dealers for Heli, but may not be for other platforms.
For example when you select a product from DJI site, they provide dealers for that specific platform and product. i.e. http://www.dji.com/dealer/phantom-2-dealers/

So, it would be great to get this point across to them. Walkera site does not show any dealer listings for any products. Any they expect people to spend $3,000 on quad just like that?

FPVpilots do it remotely
That is a pretty ambitious price considering they have only one GPS quad to their name, which suffered significant flaws on shipping.

The x350 was about a year later than the phantom, released just when the second generation phantom was released. it was a lesser performer than the phantom. and now 2 years after, but timely with the Phantom 2, Walkera release a quad with a 2 axis gopro gimbal (and a GoPro clone camera) for about twice the cost of a Phantom2 with a 2 axis gimbal. Phantom 2 flies about 25 minutes on a pack, its going to be hard to convince customers to pay another grand for the next 10 minutes flight. (Unless the customer have specific endurance requirements like SAR)

Warrenties are meaningless on multi rotors at this level, its a uphill battle to prove the user did not damage the system one way or another, I think the only meaningful warranty is looking at the company in general and judging how they tend to treat problems.

Wild guess, to be competitive in this game, they probably need to release a hexa with a 3axis (yaw stabilized) gimbal, Hex to have redundancy in case of a motor failure.
I love to be proved wrong, but just don't see the x800 becoming a runaway success.

Missunderstand me right, I like walkera and enjoy their products, but considering the x350, they have a bit of "trust" to restore before I charge $2000 for a monster size quad with a 2 axis gimbal,

Bo
