Wing tip light lenses for Dynam Bf-109

The Dynam Bf-109 is a fine plane with some not so fine absence of details.

One of them is the lack of wing tip lights. She comes just with 2 leds protruding from the wing.

So I decided to make something I never did: Plastic lenses for the lights.

Great work Tart! I read another forum where they figure out which resistor works, I'll try and find it.

Good find!

I'm planning to use the ultra bright corn LEDs from Hobbyking though. I'll post the results later.

Tart, did the blue foam survive enough to make more? Just want to know how well your plug held up. I was thinking of making AD-5 canopies using blue foam as the plug.

Blue foam is magic! I even did my Ju-87B canopy with a blue foam plug.

Just use some Vaseline as release agent.

An old trick to keeping canopies clear is to pull a thicker white styrene sheet over the plug first, say, .040, leave it on and pull the PETG over top. Can the foam take the thicker styrene?

I haven't tried that, but I used water base PU varnish as a filler and the canopy was of acceptable clarity.
It can be washed with water and dish washer too.

Looks like a guy over at the Dynam 262 thread is using a 1/2 watt 680 Ohm resistor for the lights off of 4s.
