Thread OP

ModelTech 1/3 Scale Cub


I've been drooling on the 1/3 scale Cub ARF from Hobby People. I think it would be something of a challenge to electrify, don't you?

Is there anything big enough to power this beast?

Ought not to be a problem.
Power system depends on whether you want brushed or brushless motor.

For brushed, I'd look at a geared Astro 90 - not much else around with that sort of power level, except maybe a Plettenberg.
Tom Hunt's twin Dewalt setup may also work.

For Brushless, a big Plettenberg or Aveox with belt drive or gearbox should do it.

Cells? If you're going with one motor, then I think 32 is about the most you'd be able to buy a controller for easily. If you go with two motors, then maybe 2 x 24 cells packs or similar would be a better choice.

I was beginning to think that I got shunned in these forums... Nobody's responded to my last couple of threads.
Maybe my quesitons were just too obscure.
